Questions

Straight answers before you enroll.

Do I need this course?

If you're 18 to 24 and getting your first Texas driver license, Texas requires a 6-hour adult driver education course. At 25 or older, it lets you take the written knowledge test online instead of at DPS.

Can I enroll before I turn 18?

No. Texas limits adult driver education to students who are at least 18 at registration. Under 18, you need a teen course.

What if I fail the written test?

Retake it. Retakes are unlimited, so you can keep going until you pass.

Will DPS accept my certificate?

Yes. The course is approved by TDLR (course #C3429) and Texas DPS. Bring your certificate and ID documents to your DPS appointment.

I'm busy. Do I have to do it all at once?

No. Stop and start whenever you like on any device. Your progress saves automatically.

Is the written test really included?

Yes. The written knowledge test is part of the course, and you can retake it as many times as you need.

How fast do I get my certificate?

Your digital certificate is available the same day you complete the course.

Is this course state approved?

Yes. It is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR course #C3429) and by Texas DPS.

What else will DPS ask for?

Drivers 18 to 24 also need to watch the free Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video from DPS before the driving test. Bring your certificate and ID documents to your DPS appointment.

What if I change my mind?

You can get a full refund within 3 days of purchase as long as you haven't accessed the course or received a certificate.
